CR Environmental trained fishermen in the conversion/modification/equipping of their vessels and in their operation for fisheries/oceanographic research and survey work through a NOAA funded $140,000 Fishing Industry Grant.  Ongoing research and survey projects include participation of CR and the F/V Mary K. on the NMFS/NEFSC 2001 and 2004 Monkfish Research Survey off the Northeast Atlantic Coast and a NOAA funded research project designed to evaluate trawl impacts to soft-bottom habitats on Stellwagen  Bank.  This project utilized several of the vessels listed below (F/V Christopher Andrew, F/V Yankee Rose, F/V Lady Irene and F/V Andrea J II) and consisted of extensive remote habitat surveys (side-scan sonar, ROV/video) and quantitative sampling of demersal fish and benthic macroinvertebrates.   Project participants include CR staff scientists and oceanographers, several members of the Scituate/Marshfield fishing community, and recognized benthic community experts from private and academic sectors.

The following list provides detailed descriptions of experience and specifications of fishing vessels available for research and survey work
