Geographic Information System (GIS) software is an integral facet of modern environmental and oceanographic data collection and analysis.  GIS can provide scientists, engineers and project managers with a digital database incorporating virtually all aspects of a project.  A GIS project database can incorporate environmental data such as sample locations and analytical results, the results of geophysical surveys,  ecological data, and political or civil information (boundaries, roads, etc.).  The database can be used to spatially analyze the characteristics of a project site and evaluate relationships between variables of interest.  All of CR's drafting deliverables can be provided in requested GIS formats and/or on large format high quality plots.  CR also provides web-enabled geophysical data products with the goal of allowing project mangers to inspect and interpret projected data without the assistance of GIS specialists.

Many of CR Environmental's field projects are designed to provide data which seamlessly integrates with a client's existing GIS database.  Alternatively, a GIS database and maps may be developed during the planning phase of a project to facilitate the design of a field approach.

The pond's bathymetric data was incorporated with a U.S.G.S Digital Elevation Model to aid spatial analysis of watershed and landscape relationships.

The pond's bathymetric data was also merged with ecological observations to accurately analyze the distribution and density of nuisance aquatic plants.
