ROV operations for Inspection of Diffusers at Boston Harbor's Offshore Outfall

From February 1995 to December 1997, provided vessel support services and oceanographic consulting to ENSR for water and sediment quality surveys in Boston Harbor, Massachusetts and Cape Cod Bays. The surveys were conducted on a routine basis throughout the year for ENSR's three year contract with the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority as part of its pre-operational study of the environmental impact of its new waste water outfall system. Support vessels were the 91-foot F/V Isabel S., 62-foot F/V Christopher Andrew and the 32-foot research vessel R/V Cyprinodon. CR personnel participated in cruise operations, and were responsible for outfitting the vessels with Differential GPS Navigation system and provided training on MAPTECH and HYPACK Navigation software. Annual sediment surveys and benthic hardbottom surveys used grab samplers, ROVs, and underwater still cameras. In addition, the F/V's Andrea J., Tracey Ann, Navigator, Tripolina and Captain Sam II out of Boston, MA were provided for right whale observations in Massachusetts Bay during blasting activities for the new Boston Harbor outfall.
