Wildlife and habitat evaluation in February 1999 to support a permitting effort for a proposed  landfill expansion along the Connecticut River; and review and recommendations for  revegetation of the landfill following closure.

Scalloper Underway to Search for Wreckage at TWA Flight 800 Crash Site

Vessel support services to the Flight 800 salvage operation off East Moriches, Long Island, NY, conducted by the U.S. Navy. Two 100-foot scallopers under charter to CR Environmental dragged the ocean floor from early November 1996 to May 1997, and successfully recovered large amounts of aircraft debris.

Recently conducted a survey of Woods Pond and Rising Pond on the PCB contaminated  Housatonic River for U.S. EPA. Data products included a report with bathymetric and  sediment thickness maps for the ponds.

Mooring deployment operations at the Portland Dump Site off the F/V Susan & Caitlyn out of Portland, ME; and sediment profile camera survey at the Cape Cod Disposal Site off the F/V Christopher Andrew. 

New York Army Corps of Engineers Mud Dump Site

Baseline video sled survey to investigate the sand cap at the New York Mud Dump off New  York Harbor. CR developed a specialized underwater towed video sled equipped with a high  resolution video camera and high output lighting system.

Boston Harbor Confined Disposal Cell 

Provided vessel support on a side-scan, sub-bottom and bathymetric survey of a confined  disposal cell in Boston Harbor. A video survey using CR's sled with a high resolution  video camera was used to ground truth the acoustic data.

Buzzards Bay Disposal Site

In the spring of 1998, CR provided vessel and navigation support on an extensive bathymetric,  side-scan and sediment profile camera survey a the Buzzards Bay, MA, Disposal Site. Side-scan mosaics will be produced and sediment samples and camera images used to help interpret  the results of the survey.
