Cape Cod Disposal Site Monitoring

Conducted the first year monitoring of the Cape Cod Disposal Site, Cape Cod Bay, and buoy maintenance in 1996. Project included bathymetric and sub-bottom surveys in the CCDS and a nearby reference site.  Sediment was sampled for chemical analyses, and wave and current measurements were taken by SAIC during the winter of 1996-97 to determine sediment transport.In addition, side-scan sonar survey operations, sediment profile camera imagery, and additional sediment sampling for chemistry were performed to identify two alternative reference sites. Data was then processed, analyzed and summarized in a First Year Monitoring Report. Buoy maintenance has been performed since 1996.

 Responsible for deployment, recovery and maintenance of the Cape Cod Disposal Site Buoy from 1999 to 2001.
