CR Environmental provided the survey
vessel Cyprinodon, sediment sampling
equipment, and technical support to
ENSR Consulting & Engineering for vibro-coring at 10 harbors throughout New
England. Under an Army Corps of Engineers Task Order, sediment and water from
these harbors and reference stations were sampled for bioassay and toxicity
testing prior to dredging activities.
The vessel Cyprinodon was transported
to these sites using a diesel pickup truck and triple axle trailer and outfitted
with a precision echosounder, DGPS and the HYPACK survey software to support the
sampling operation. Over 100 vibro-cores from 3 to 8 feet
in length, as well as numerous grab samples, and box cores were obtained and the
project was completed well ahead of schedule. Don
